Today is a great day to begin a 31 Day Prayer Challenge.
Every day there will be a name of God to proclaim and worship, a promise of God to declare and a prayer prompt to pray and journal.
Click on this link to read a great article called “Listening to God in Prayer” to start you out.
Day 1
Name of God to proclaim and focus your worship to: Elohim (God)
The very first name God used to describe Himself was “‘elōhîm.” In the beginning God (‘elōhîm) created the heavens and the earth. (Gen 1:1) Common to all ancient Semitic languages, “‘el” was a generic noun for god and sometimes the proper name for a god. It means “strong one.
Scripture Promise to claim: “Awesome is God from his sanctuary; the God of Israel – he is the one who gives power and strength to his people”. Psalm 68:35 (It’s a great Psalm! So if you have time read all of 68)
Prayer prompt: Read the promise above; ask God what are the areas of your life where He wants to give you strength. Listen and journal a prayer of response. Pray for those God puts on your heart that need His strength today.
