Day 12
Name of God to proclaim and focus your worship to: Esh Oklah; : אֵשׁ; (AISH o-KLAH), Our God Is A Consuming Fire

We find this name in Hebrews 12:28-29 Esh Oklah is literally translated from the Hebrew “to eat by fire.” Thankfully, God’s fiery wrath only consumes sin. When our hearts are devoted to Him, we can be at peace. However, if we give our affections to other “gods” then He disciplines us. God knows that our greatest fulfillment comes in relationship with Him. So, in order that we not miss out, God desires for us to be set apart. We are called to live not conformed to the pattern of this world, instead we are called to be transformed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2) so that we may be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and given to the passions and the directions that He brings to our lives.
Think of it this way: God loves so passionately that anything that comes into the presence of this love is exposed to the consuming nature of its fire. Anything that is temporary in its measure will be completely consumed until all that remains is that which is eternal. This is why it is so important for us to clothe ourselves in the imperishable – Jesus Christ and live in His Glory, humbling submitting ourselves to His desires over our own.
Scripture Promise to claim: Proverbs 3:12 “For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights”
Read the promise above; His love is so all consuming, that to experience His passion for His own drives us humbly to the floor in worship of the God who loves us so passionately. Spend some time fully engaged in worship of our Esh Oklah; asking God to reveal anything in our lives that must be burned away because it gets in the way of fully experiencing His passionate love. Listen and journal a prayer of response. Pray for those God puts on your heart that have given their affections to “gods” instead of the One True God, Esh Oklah. Pray that they would submit to the convicting work of the Holy Spirit and experience the fullness of God’s passionate love.
