Prayer Challenge- Day 14

Day 14

Names of God to proclaim and focus your worship to: Ebed Yahweh, (Servant of the Lord); Ish Makaboth (Man of Sorrows)

Both these names are given to Jesus. God sent Jesus as our Ebed Yahweh to not only show us what it looks like to be a servant but because Jesus was the “Man of Sorrows,” he would be familiar with suffering, acquainted with grief. (Isaiah 53).

He did not come to this earth to live a life full of pursuing His own pleasure and comfort. Jesus came as the Man of Sorrows, to bear our sin and reconcile us to God; to be a living sacrifice, so that we would not spend an eternity apart from the One who created us and longs for our worship. He was the Servant, beyond all servants; and He made room for you and me in the Kingdom of God so that we may also become a servant of the Lord. Jesus was the suffering servant, who was then exalted at the hand of Almighty God. Ebed Yahweh and Ish Makaboth are names that give us hope and purpose. We have an example of how to live this life.

Scripture Promise to claim: Psalm 32:8 “The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”

Read the promise above; Jesus has been the perfect example and wants to guide you to be a servant of the Lord. Ask Him what that looks like in your day. How does He want you to humbly serve him with His guidance?

Listen and journal a prayer of response. Pray for those God puts on your heart that need Jesus, the man who understands all sorrows. Song to worship with: https://youtu.be/C6jXqdtZi10
