Prayer Challenge- Day 16

Day 16

Name of God to proclaim and focus your worship to: Atik Yomin עַתִּיק יֹומִין; (Ancient of Days)

Ancient Of DaysBlessing and honor, glory and power Be unto the Ancient of Days From every nation, all of creation Bow before the Ancient of Days.

The name “Ancient of Days” appears only 3 times in scripture, all of them in the 7th chapter of Daniel. “the Ancient of Days took his seat; his throne was fiery flames”(verse 9) This title expresses the truth of God the Father’s eternal existence before creation. It’s a name that represents great power, and demands great respect; the throne where He sits represents the power and authority of one who rules. This description should inspire awe and humble submission. He alone is Creator and Ruler and Judge of the universe.

As we think of Aik Yomin, we need that healthy fear (awe with humble submission) to appreciate His love and realize the need to examine our souls daily. The truth is that only awe with humble submission maintains our friendship with God.

Scripture Promise to claim: Psalm 25: 12-14 “Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.”

Read the promise above; Ask God if there is any area that you have lost your awe of Him. Is there any place that pride is getting in the way of your relationship with Jesus?

Listen and journal a prayer of response. Pray for those God puts on your heart that could use a new sense of the Awe of God; need to be reminded of who the Ancient of Days is and humble themselves before Him.
