Day 17
Name of God to proclaim and focus your worship to: Yahweh-Nissi; (Yä-wá’ Nee-see’) The Lord Is My Banner

The noun “nissi” derives from the Hebrew “nês”, which means “banner” In battle, opposing nations would fly their own standard on their front lines to give their soldiers a feeling of hope and a point of focus. In Exodus 17:15 Moses declares that “The Lord is my banner” and thus was calling his people to rally to Yahweh, the Lord. Yahweh-NISSI is the source of hope and a point of focus for us in the battles of life.
1 Samuel 17:47b says “For the battle is the Lord’s” In the very real spiritual battles we fight every day, including the command to love our enemies, let’s remember Yahweh Nissi, “the LORD is our banner.”and sing together “his banner over us is love.”
Scripture Promise to claim: Psalm 60:2 “But you have raised a banner for those who fear you–a rallying point in the face of attack.”
Read the promise above; where is your focus when you are struggling? When the enemy of your soul is on the war path you need a sign of hope and victory. Jesus is your banner and your victory. Ask him to give you a specific verse today that will be your rallying point to remind you that the battles is the Lord’s.
Listen and journal a prayer of response. Pray for those God puts on your heart that are fighting a tough spiritual battle.
