Day 18
Name of God to proclaim and focus your worship to: Jehovah Magen (Maw-gane’) (the Lord Our Shield)

Psalm 3:3 says “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head.” Like me, have you found yourself deeply weary, with a downcast gaze when no one is looking? Though we trust the Lord we often feel too weak to rise. To weak to pick up our shield of faith that protects us from the attacks of the enemy. (Ephesians 6:6)
Thankfully, the Creator of the universe reveals His name, Jehovah Magen, places His tender fingers under our chin and slowly lifts our gaze to meet His own. It’s a look of total love, and the look of a Defense and Shield that makes the dark one tremble with terror. In the presence of this Shield, we find the strength we need to fight through another day.
Scripture Promise to claim: Today instead of weariness, our hearts can begin to beat to a verse from one of David’s songs: Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.”
Read the promise above; pray this promise back to God. Ask God how He will be your shield today, the lifter of your head.
Listen and journal a prayer of response. Pray for those God puts on your heart that need the protection of God and the strength to look up to Him. That God would be the lifter of their head, Strength and Shield.
