Prayer Challenge- Day 9

Day 9

Name of God to proclaim and focus your worship to: Yahweh Tsuri (Zsu-REE) (‏צוּר‎) (God is My Rock.)

God is described as our Rock throughout the books of the prophets and Psalms. He is immovable, unbreakable, a safe place for retreat, and a fortress in battle! He is our true source of strength, our firm foundation, our support, and our defense. Cling to Him amidst all circumstances! “Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.” (Isaiah 26:4) Yahweh Tsuri is a strong, solid place to rest and to reside. He lends us strength and stability. Plus, all of Scripture points to Jesus as the Rock, the capstone, the stone that the builders rejected. Jesus is our solid place of rest, refuge and the stability of our lives. In a world of uncertainty, brokenness and trials, it is good to be reminded that our Lord is a rock. He does not change. He does not move. He is not discouraged. Nothing about our lives – past, present, future – comes as a surprise to Him. Today, be reminded of His faithfulness to His people. Be encouraged that in Him we can take refuge, comfort and peace. Whatever circumstance we find ourselves in today, the Lord is faithful!

Scripture Promise to claim: Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Read the promise above; Take time to thank Jesus for being your rock. Thank Him for giving your feet a solid ground to stand on; that even in the storms of life He is your solid foundation. Ask God to bring to your memory times He has been that rock and refuge in a time of storm.

Listen and journal a prayer of response. Pray for those God puts on your heart that need to know there is a Rock, a Refuge in their current uncertainty. Pray that they would turn to God who will be the firm foundation they can rest on.
