Prayer Challenge- Day 23

Day 23

Name of God to proclaim and focus your worship to: Abba (ab’-a) Papa, Daddy

Abba is the most intimate form of God’s name, showing us His character as our loving daddy. This name appears 3 times in the New Testament (Mark 14:36, Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6). The Mark passage shows that Jesus was in a deeply painful moment when he called out to His Daddy. So in Romans and Galatians we are encouraged to do the same. Jesus understands our need for an Abba; a father to be trusted, welcoming, forgiving, encouraging, and the One who stands by us when trouble comes, because He knows that many do not have an earthly father who is like that.

Know today that the One who is Adonai, Esh Oklah, and El Hakkavod yearns to be called “Daddy” by you. He is the only One you can fully trust, you can lean on, who cares about all your concerns. Yes, the Lord is your Daddy, your Papa, and He will never leave you or forsake you. (Deut. 31:6)

Scripture Promise to claim: Romans 8:15 “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

Read the promise above; imagine today being able to climb up on Abba’s lap. Pray for the ability to fully feel His Daddy-like love today. Ask Him anything your heart as His child wants to ask.

Listen and journal a prayer of response. Pray for those God puts on your heart that have struggled with their earthly father and need the healing that only Abba, the Father can give them.
